I believe it is spalted maple, however, I may be wrong. Lesson learned...label blanks after I get them.

I would agree on the spalted maple for this one. However whne you start to lable your blanks will come kick me as I always set on shelf saying I know what it is and than 6 months later errrrr.....

Been in that position many times myself Jason, nothing worse than not knowing what a certain pen is made from especially when asked by a potential buyer! :redface::redface:

The pen looks fantastic anyhow and it is a lovely piece of wood too!:)

Labeling the blank only helps if you label the pen as well. DAMHIKT:redface:

Very nice pen, though!
