This is from the Ambrosia Maple I got at the sawmill a few weeks ago.
Sanding sealer and 3 coats of Mylands Turners Polish, and a coat of TSW. Oh, I used a bit of thin CA in the yellow spalt.
Shameless plug: Some of the lumber is ready to use. There are 4, 5 blank lots in the Individual Classifieds. This is 2 scans of the same pen.

Ken, that is BEAUTIFUL! I just ordered my monthly allotment of wood, or it would (or should I say "wood") be tempting!

Oh, what the heck!

Really nice Ken, great craftsmanship, nice choice and direction in the blank. A tip of the hat to Mother Nature!! It's a wonderful thing she does!!!

Very sweet looking pen Ken! It causes one to stop and stare, wondering what else may appear in the wood. That is the beauty of spalts, in creating what I call the "Gaze affect".

That is one pretty piece of spalted curly ambrosia South Carolina maple there, Ken. But we gotta be careful here. All these other penturners are gonna want to move down here to God's country with us.[;)][;)]
