Spalted Churchill

I'm somewhat of a newbie and this is my first post in this section. Not sure that I am showing off the pen as much as I am showing off the wood. A friend brought me this piece of wood from his backyard and asked if I could make a pen out of it. It is a sterling silver churchill.

Critiques regarding the pen and the photography (I'm not much of a picture taker) are welcome.

Picture does look a tad fuzzy to me. But the wood looks fantastic. The fit looks good but I'm a newbie also so that opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it []

It does look like a nice piece of wood, but the workmanship on the pen looks none-too-shabby either.
