This is an unknown wood I picked up on the ground back in June when doing a big hike with my wife and daughter. It has been sitting out in the garage the last 2 months + with the ends sealed. This morning I decided to see if I could get it turned. I used a slimline chrome kit from Woodturningz. I did 2 thin CA coats followed by 5 med CA coats on both sections. I then did wet MM starting at 2400 and working up to 12000 grit. There are some areas that have issues like the top where the cap holds on the clip, the wood was chipping off some. Its hard to tell unless you hold it real close and look hard but there is a small gap between the clip and the wood on the back of the pen. This is going to go in a box with a label on the top of the box stating where I got it and month / year. Thanks for taking a look!
