My son contacted me before Christmas and asked if I could give him his second pen turning lesson while he was home for the holiday. He said he wanted to make a rollerball for a friend who had spent a year in India studying Hindu. He thought Spalted tamarind would be an appropriate choice, so I had some ready when he got home Saurday night. In spite of the busy long weekend, we found some lathe time. I advised, he worked .... Here's the result ... :)

Thanks Fred!
That pen holder was a gift from a man who goes by many names, Kris Kringle, Santa Claus, Chuck Stone, .... But some may know him as NewLondon88 or simply Charlie! :)

The Holiday went too fast but it was nice to be able to have that time together! Thanks for the comments, I will pass them on. Hopefully she will like it!
