Default Something special for Fountain Pen Day since I haven't posted in a while

A little something special completed today in honor of 2017 Fountain Pen Day. Figured I haven't posted in a while so I'd throw out there what I've been up to in the new shop.

Very nice Carl. I like the angled segments as well as the hooded nibs. Excellent as usual!

Thanks! The hooded nib was a new venture for me but it needed it to keep the angle theme going. Managed to get them all in-line eventually.

Roughly 15.5mm diameter. The material is all Alumilite. Duofold red and a wood tone mix.

Outstanding Pens Carl,
Beautiful Profiles and Proportions, Love your Hooded Nib, and Angled Segments.
Great Craftsmanship, as Usual.

Wow! Great design, and it is nice to see a hand-made hooded nib.
Does the section touch the nib, or does it leave it free to have full flex ?

It does not touch the nib. There is a small bit of clearance on the top and bottom. the sides are just about touching the wings but not quite.

The only real complaint I have with it is filling. I either have to dunk the entire hood which makes a mess and can stain the material or fill the converter outside the pen which is the more practical method, just not normal.
