Been getting some pens knocked out recently for an upcoming show. here are a few slimlines I've done...probably the 1st slims I've made in 8months. I used some of my home cast blanks that I had set aside for small barrel pens. The last pen is my take on Butch's challenge pens. I used Clemson Tiger colors and made some segments where the pen twists. I left off the clip on purpose, i didn't like the look with it on there. All are MM to 12000 and polished with PlastX. Comments are welcomed and thanks for looking!

I don't want to make a ton of threads for all the pens I'd like to post so here are some more. this is a cigar with another of my blanks. I really like this color combo and I'm very pleased with the finish (none of those tiny swirls).

Help with wood ID please!

Another pen from this weekend. It's a Jr. gent that I kinda messed up. ya know when you use CA for the tubes and it sets halfway in the blank? Well, I learned to cut off the tube and insert the remaining bit in the other end of the tube...well something to keep in mind is the length of the blank BEFORE gluing in that last bit of tube. otherwise you get a Jr. with a cap as long as the body. My wife actually likes it so I let it go and we'll see if it sells or not. I would like help with the wood. I got it in a blank trade or something and have no clue as to what type it is. Any help would be appreciated...feel free to make fun of me for my mind lapse with the cap...I already have:redface::beat-up:

My gut says myrtle, but I've seen buckeye burl and afzelia burl that look like that too.

Nice looking group of pens.

Thanks David, at first I thought buckeye but I'll give those others a web search to see if it could be something else.

Not my favorite blank of the lot, but my fav pen would be the modified slimline. Would love to have seen that with another of the blanks. Nice pours!

I really like this one! I can imagine it as a view of the Earth as seen through a small slit of a window from a space shuttle mission. :)

It's funny you mention that...I made up this color scheme blank when i first started casting (back in Feb I think...yes this year) and I named it "Cosmic Shame" for that very reason.
