Just wanted to share the results of turning a few of the Super Bowl Pool blanks that I've received.
The red/white Sierras are from blanks provided by, and I believe also cast by, Mike of the North. They reminded me of diver's flags so these went to a BIL and his son who are both rescue divers.
The Western Diamondback on the Elegant Beauty Sierra was from ZanderPommo. It was great getting this one because I had never turned one before, but was always curious about them. It's been very well received.
Next I have a few sketch pencils that were part of six pencil order.
The segmented blank (Tulipwood, Kingwood, Padouk) was from Displaced Canadian.
The lighter pencil is Pecan from fiferb.
The darker pencil is Kingwood; another blank from Displaced Canadian.
And the next pencil is Buckeye Burl from Greg O'Sherwood. I added some black acrylic accents to provide a better contrast with the chrome. OK, and also to correct an oops!
These are the only SBP supplied blanks in this group, but what the heck... may as well show you the last two pencils in the order as well. A Maple Burl with red acrylic accents (no oops on this one, just thought it would look good!), and an African Rosewood.
I wasn't that excited with the design of these pencils, but the customer loved them!
