I finally got a chance, for the first time this year, to do some turning. I've spent the last month doing all my prep work so I'm finally ready to go. Here's what I got done this evening...

L-R

BOW, JOW, JOW (burl, I guess), African Padauk, Blue Buckeye Burl, Peach, Flamed Box Elder

This was the first time I tried to make anything besides the traditional thin slimlines. I think these look 100% better...the pens seems to show the wood more than the metal parts this time around.

I will admit that it's kind of hard to make a bad looking OW pen though, you'd have to try and cut it with a spoon and finish it with a magic marker for one of those types of wood to look bad.

Finish was 12000mm - (2 coats) Behlens woodturners - TSW
