Slim Line Pine Cone

This Slim Line has two pine cones on it they were stabilized with CA from the out side and after drilling I used thin CA on the inside before installing the tubes with thick CA. It has 8 coats of thin CA cured with accelerator and MM to 12000. The back of each pine cone is the middle of the pen.

I start by finding dry cones that did not open, and I square them up on the band saw and use a lot of thin CA to stabilize them before drilling. I try to drill down the center of the stem, then use thin CA down the center of the hole then install the tubes and turn Re-stabilizing every now and then. I block sand to final shape and finish.
