This is one of my wife's segmenting jobs. Just a nice simple cut of silver maple, beech and brass. I like the way the chatoyance of the maple and beech play off each other to give you contrast despite being two very similarly toned woods.

That's a great looking pen. I've always used woods with more contrast, but more & more I'm seeing some pens made with segments with a similar shade of wood, and they look really good.

I guess that's not going in the cigar contest.:rolleyes:

Unfortunately I completely forget those contests are going on. I've had too much else on my mind lately to keep up it seems.

Besides since this is listed on my store front, it doesn't qualify under the "not shown anywhere" rule.

She will typically make it round on the mandrel but not quite down to finished size. I'll do the final shaping TBC and finish work.
