This is an extra blank I made while doing my pith pens. It originally blew apart while drilling, finally got around to re-gluing and this is the result.

Padauk, aluminum and maple. Finished in CA.

C&C welcome.

It's not as simple as some may think. :)
Measuring, cutting, gluing and then still drilling accurately so it all stays perfectly aligned like you have managed to do, takes a fair bit of skill and attention to detail. Well done. :)

Very nice. I made the same king of blank for a recent pith. I feel I was more lucky than good. Even after it came apart a few times. Yours looks perfect. Good Job!!:good:

There is a bit of pucker power involved when drilling a blank like that. Oh, I should point out that I've been unlucky a few more times than I've been lucky.:rolleyes:
