here is a pen I made to give my mother as a Christmas present this year. it is a Sierra from exotic blanks and a piece of hand picked black ash burl. It has a shellawax finished sanded to 1500 grit. I burned 2 grooves in. I'm pretty happy with it and think it will look good in a solid cherry box:)

From what I can see, that is a nice looking pen, but that blue background takes away from the pen. Have you tried a cream colored or Off White background? They work real good.

it actually is a white background. Still playing with the white balance and exposure to get the right look

Try Picasa photo editting...it's free. Usually take a photo such as the first one(1st post here) and just click on "I'm Feeling Lucky" and BINGO!

Burnlines need some balancing...perhaps on both ends? Don't get me wrong....I love doing burnlines on blanks, I just don't sell them with them on 'em.
