I ordered this one (from these guys: http://www.penturners.org/forum/f13/antique-ornament-marketry-pen-98643/#post1412683) in acrylic for a gift to a friend. His boat is a peculiar Greek RIB (ridgid inflatable boat) named Apache 23.
I used the less perfect pieces in order to try unknown techniques to me. And it's the pictured pen with many defects but with a lot of value in terms of learning curve. Hopefully the final pen will be faultless...

Thank you for your kind words.

As for the RIB definition, unlike the inflatable, she has a rigid (polyester or aluminium) hull. Different boat in every sense.
