Sierra and spalted maple

Another pen from this weekend. Black chrome sierra clicker from Ernie at beartooth woods and spalted maple from marlin4949 (ebay). The finish is CA.

I have never tried spalted wood how is it to turn? Did you stabilize it? Very nice work.

Yep, I stabilized it with thin CA. It was very soft.

Geat work, you might be a bit surprised when your package arrives in a few days. I think a Stabilized blank may have "fallen" in the box with the tool. :wink:

Thanks! I can't wait to get the chamfering tool. I keep having to borrow a friends chamfering bit. It looks like you have sold quite a few of them. I like Daniel's suggestion to paint it red. It does look easy to lose.
