Today was the first day this week I have been able to do anything in the shop. I had picked up a couple "new" blanks from WC a few weeks back and decided to see what they would look like. both kits came from WC. The wood is Chechen Burl. The Sierra had a blow-out. So I put a plug of Padauk on top. That was the first time for doing that.

Your comments and critiques are welcome.

Just a suggestion for when you encounter "design opportunities" like this: try putting a band of the contrasting wood or material at BOTH ends of the blank. It can yield some very nice results. I have done that before, sometimes by plan:biggrin:, and sometimes by necessity:eek:
