This is the first time that I have done buckeye burl. I got 4 freebie blanks in the last order from Arizona Silhouette. I really like this stuff. It turned very smoothly and was a joy to finish. The BEB is surrounded with a Gold Titanium/Black Titanium Sierra kit. This was turned between centers, sanded, MM then buffed with tripoli/white diamond.

The photos are decent and made quickly on the throw quilt in the bonus room. I have to build me a light box for better photos as well as better backgrounds. But these do the trick for now.

Nice pen. Stabilized buckeye burl turns very nicely, but unstabilized buckeye burl is a different animal.

Nice job Allen! The pen looks great. I am a huge fan of these kits especially getting two pens from one blank.
You might try cropping your photos down a bit smaller, it makes it a little easier to see if you don't have to shift over to get it all.
Great looking work, keep it up.

Thanks for sharing it with us!:)

I really like that pen. The blank is gorgeous, and a great match of the kit. I think buckeye burl looks best in a Sierra. The fit and finish looks great as well.

Allen thats one sweet piece of box elder.. And fitted ti the perfect pen for it!
NOw do you have any of it with pithy places or voids? You ought to see those when you accidently drop crushed turquoise stone in it. :D

Gorgeous pen. And great photos. But you do need to crop down the photos a bit.

Sorry about the photos. I made them smaller in size so I could post them, but didn't crop them enough. I will try to do better next time so I don't get my hand slapped.[:I]
