Hello all,
Here are a couple of photos of a pen I have been trying to perfect for work. At work we use certain documents that are not used by anyone else so when these documents are shredded the organization allows personnel to pick some up to make departure gifts with. I learned the technique I used to make this from the article by Eugenio Soto in the Woodturning magazine titled "Phoenix" Pens.
The wood block in the picture is a blank that is drying right now. I should be able to turn this blank this weekend.
The pens are a real big hit at work and I have an order to make a letter opener, magnifying glass, and pen set to complete.
I enjoy making pens from different or unusual materials. Once I complete the orders I have with this material I plan to play with a different material with this technique.
The pen kit I used was the Phoenix pen kit from woodturnings.com
Comments welcome, I am always looking to get better at this hobby.
