Okay, this is my first snake-wood anything.

I drilled it out two weeks ago ( all in one pass), turned it a week ago(from square to finished shape)....and so far....... not a sound....shhhhhhhh[)]

Any bets on how long the silence will last??

That trailer load should be arriving here any day now....hehehe

Well Jim, that looks like an awesome pencil...for now.[:0] I have never tried snakewood, yes because I don't want one to split on me.[V] If I did try one, would it help dripping some CA into the hole after drilling? I'm sure that has already been tried.

This one is a hairline as well, right near the tip, I looked at the opposite side, nothing...hmmm,

I promise that I was thinking good thoughts, Jim. Of course, I've been described as a "little cracked", too, so my efforts may have been wasted.

I just have to wonder why anyone would bother with Snakewood or some of the others that invariably crack. Just wonderin' Each to his own.

Not all snakewood cracks. The same with the other "tricky" woods. It's a challenge to over come the odds.

I turned some snake wood for a Sierra pen. I didnt have any problems. I guess I will call it beginners luck. Seeing that I didnt know snake wood was hard to turn.

I'm struggling to "not" have a visual[:0]
