I've been wanting to give this a try for some time - these are my first results. These are made by cutting an s-curve into a blank and then gluing a single strip of contrasting wood between the two halves. One is walnut and the other is maple - both with the same unknown wood in the center (if you need to call it something - call it 'red mahogany').

This could become a sub addiction under the main addiction of making pens.

Excellent job Tony! It also works to use fabric ribbon in that curve. Try Red-White-Blue ribbons for the troops!
