This was a project I've been working on for a couple weeks. I would make a cut and set aside to dry and forget it for a week. Cut again and forget it till next weekend. The first photo is the uncut/un-drilled blank I made. I think it turned out ok for my first real segment (not just stacks.)

I think (not sure at this point) I used Honduran rosewood, maple, purpleheart, and amboyna in the stack. the verticle segment was a thin strip of andiroba. I picked up a bunch of VERY cheap Andiroba from woodcraft about a year ago.

Even though I am not a fan of slimlines because I dislike the Cross refills, they do afford a lot of room for creativity. You took full advantage. Beautiful pen. Very nice symmetry both radially and axially.

Excellent first segmented pen. It would be excellent if it was your 50th segmented pen. Nice work.

I'm especially impressed with how well you managed to keep the drilled hole centered down the length with no drifting.
