I'm not as happy with this as I'd like to be. I use a machinist vise and homemade v-blocks to drill many of my blanks and I usually don't have a problem getting a perpendicular hole. This time proved different and I alsmost lost the lower blank... hence much of the reason for the shape. Glued up segments of two homebew PR colors. Chrome hardware. Closed view.

And the open view (same pen).

Billy,
I really like this design! I may try this with bloodwood / and curly maple.
I don't know how your PR cuts and drills but I would make this particular design by drilling my blanks then cutting, and finally "making my puzzle" on the tube. This may help with the drilling?
Thanks for sharing with us!

I'm impressed.

Only criticism I can think of is that it is not sitting on my desk
