The black material used to make this pen was an over run of of a batch
of solid surface that was formulated for picolo flutes and was going to be dumped, however the owner of the company was really a nice guy and had no problem with my taking it,I also grabbed some of the lighter material called
antique glass, A little CA and a little patience and I managed to get a snappy looking pen out of it, This was my first try at this material so I tried to keep it simple.

I think it looks pretty good. Way to be looking out for material to turn. I haven't used that kit myself yet, how do you like it?

I really like the compson kit for click pens,it is a quick turn, priced right and can be very vintage looking with the right blank.
Good bread and butter pen, nice hardware and easy to assemble.
I do find that it carries acrylic better than wood but that's a personal vision. I probably haven't found the right wood for my eye yet.
