Had a friend ask for a distinctive burl pen - got some HRB from Isaac and had some Black Ash burl in the box, did some veneer sandwiching, and viola!

(Honduran Rosewood in the center band, Ash on the ends)

Great pen! I would love to carry one of those around. Love the burls.
What material did you use for the white segmenting? If any improvement could be made it might be in a white material which maintains it's borders a little cleaner.
Fantastic job. Thanks for sharing it.

Martin

Wow Steve, when did you get 2 friends!

Russell, between you and my "imaginary" friend, I've got that number covered!

Martin, that's from a pack of dyed wood veneer from Woodcraft. It looks better in person - the photo shows it about twice actual size on my PC screen, so you can see some roughness in the white.

I got some black/white/black pickguard, but it looked thicker than I wanted for this kit. I've got a blank glued up in the shop with the pickguard - keep your eyes open for a new post, maybe this weekend.

Gary, I love that kit too - need to order some more, that was my last Aero with any gold on it.
