Found this wood very dry and easy to chip out. Applied thin C.A. prior to turning.
Sanded thru 600, 4 coats of thin C.A.
5 coats of medium.
Sanded and M.M. thru 12,000.
Plast-X and Aircraft canopy polish.
(pics are from crap phone sorry for the quality)
Thought or comments on this are appreciated.

Looks pretty, but how's the durability of the wood?

Cedar is a softwood, and I'm afraid of using it in a nice pen.

I like the pen and the pics! I agree that the CA may add durability to the wood.

Finish looks good . Third photo makes it look like the lower end of the cap is a bit under turned , but may just be the photo . An indentation will develop under the clip where it contacts the wood , but won`t be noticeable . The CA will harden the wood a bit . It will dent if abused , but so what . Tell your customer up front that the long term appearance of the pen is up to him . In my experience , most people who like a wood pen won`t mind if it develops a bit of added character as they use it every day .
