Managed to finish these three pens today, but I started on them yesterday. Without getting into details, yesterday was my worst day yet making pens in the two short months since I've started. It has been basically smooth sailing until yesterday :) and then, one mistake after another. I finished the purple pen on my second try and it just kept getting worse from there. I finally just walked away, but, in the end it all worked out good.

The end results look very nice! Sorry the trip to get there was so unpleasant.
I really like the Sedona style.

We all have off days that is for sure. The important thing is sometimes to allow yourself to just walk away and think. Looks like it paid off big to me. Those look great and your photos are really nice.

Love the finished Pens.
Those days bring you back to earth with a thud, like someone somewhere is trying to tell you, that you are not as smart as you thought you were.
I have those days often.
Don't let them grind you down, dust your self off and go get em.

Great looking pens. Off days are to be expected. You did the right thing by just walking away. I didn't do that once. Ended up having to make a new tool handle for my skew :(

Fine examples of why you should stick with it! I have been doing this for ten years, now and still have those days! Some days the pen gods are good and sometimes not. Sometime I wonder if I should still do this or give it up and turn bowls or something. Then I get a few orders and have to make them and get right back to it.
Just learn from those days and you'll be fine.

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments!

Hopefully I learned something from the mistakes and will avoid them in the future. Also learned a lesson regarding customers and monetary transactions. From here forward, it will be very simple..... I give you product, you give me greenbacks. Geeez.... some people  Thought I was going to have to break out the ball bat... jk

Sometimes knowing when to 'walk away' as you said, is more important then anything else.

You came back and made some really great turnings! Well done!
