Second closed end

I made my own pen chuck to see if I could turn a closed end pen. This is my second one. I'm working on a special base for the first. The Cocobolo was very light colored when I cut it but is getting darker.

Very cool! Great job. I had some cocobolo turn almost a green grey and cutting it. Slowly turning orange/red again.

That is a super looking pen and base!!! What kit did you use, it doesn't look like a baron is it a Jr. statesman?

It must be the star of Texas, I bought it in Texas at Wal-Mart.
It was the center piece of a button. I just removed the plastic outer part. The pen kit is PK10-RT from Penn State. I havent moved up to the higher end pens yet. We have a local woodworking store about 2 miles from my house that sell all the Penn State stuf. I hang out there alot.
