I recently got some Schmidt FP parts from another member ( I'll mention his name when I get his permission)
It has a little window where you can see the amount of ink still in it.
The mech has some threads in the plastic on either side of the window which I turned off. I threaded a length of stainless (metric fine M10 x 1.0mm ) and used this to hold the cap. I threaded the mid section of the brass to screw the body on ( and off of course to refill it.) I like the mechs and the next one will have a bit more metal decoration on the outside and a clip.
It's dressed in PR Princess' Burnt Copper pr.
Comment and criticisms welcome.

Edit in: I really didn't like the edge where the cap met the body so just turned a small tennon and added the ss band. I think it makes a big difference:biggrin:

The dress is nice, but my only criticism is why are you getting parts from Schmidt when we know darn well your lazy bum could make them. Well done.

That is another masterpiece in a long line of successes Mr Skiprat, you know how I feel about pens without clips, however, that is a lovely instrument and the shape, fit and finish are excellent. :worship: Very clear photos too! :good::glasses-cool:

It's pretty nice, that's for sure. Great looking blank, and well constructed of course. If I had to criticize something, I'd say the cap section is too long, or the body isn't long enough, one or the other. It always amazes me what you can do with anything Steve..even something not so overwhelming you make it look to be. You have quite a gift.

You know I have a brother in law that used to live in London that I would send pens too. He and his friends always went on about how cool they thought they were and how they never seen anything over there like that. They obviously never seen your pens! Time and Time Again... Amazing!
