I was turning some cherry burl down for a pen when I had a "blow-out". A small section of wood broke loose from the barrel I was working on. The figure in the wood was sweet, so I didn't want to just toss it out. I mixed up some epoxy and turquoise chips and filled in the hole. After it cured, I decided the other barrel needed some accent. I started to cut an 1/8th inch groove to fill with the turquoise when...

While I was typing this I recieved a phone call from someone who saw the pen on my Facebook account.

I almost hate to see this one go :crying:...but, that is why I'm turning them.

Thanks for looking :smile-big:

Thank you for the kind words!
I have a few other blow-outs the were set aside to be stripped clean of the tubes. I'm rethinking a couple of them.

Nice save, and great looking pen. The colors really work well together.

And yet another GREAT idea comes forth on IAP!
