The blank is from TurnTex Woods, they have beautiful blanks, called Rustic Copper, made from dried out cactus plant and stabilized. The inner tubes were painted black, care taken during drilling, I used metho to keep the blank cool. Turning fairly easy, but I made sure of sharp tool and care to wet sand so as not to overheat.
It had small voids at the finish, which were filled and wet sanded with CA, the finish is CA with plastic polish to finish, your opinions are valued, thanks Amos :)

Beautiful pen. You did it up right. Questions, why all the precaution on keeping it cool? Why is it different than any other PR blank?

Looks great Amos. You did a great job.

Curtis' blanks are very easy to turn. I have been very rough with them and they still come out great. I dont think you have to be carefull with the heat genrated at any point while making your masterpiece.

I have seen Curtis bounce the blank off the floor and they hold up very well. That Alumilite is some great stuff.
