Russ Fairfield Inspired Slimline

I have always been a fan of Russ Fairfields work. I turned my first pen several years ago after studying his website. This is an attempt at copying one of his pens..Zebra and Blackwood modified slimline,

Beautiful pen Harold. I really like the combo of the zebra cut on the bias with the blackwood. I've never seen zebra so dark though. Did you stain it before finishing? It's really much more impressive with the dark finish.
