Here is a pen made from a Rosewood log that was given to me by one of the local carvers in Angola West Africa. I brought back only one piece enough for 6 blanks (wish I would have got more) :mad: The picture does not do it justice. Finish is CA, JR Gent II
I also brought back "grey wood" yet to find the real name (3 logs enough for about 15 blanks) & One Ebony hard as a rock probably be able to get 4 blanks out of it...

Very nice, I would have chosen to break the grain somewhere else when cutting the blank, but with limited material you probably didn't have much choice.

Cool pen stand, I like that idea.
