I have a couple of boards I got from a local trim shop. One is Brazilian rosewood. Its dark, very hard and has a distinctive aroma when cutting. It also has many small inclusions in the wood that look like small hairline cracks in the turned wood. Is that normal for Brazilian rosewood? The other is a lighter colored wood that he said was also rosewood. This wood is also very dense and hard. It has a light tan overall look about it but has a distinct reddish grain. It also has a sweet aroma when cutting, drilling and turning. I thought some of you wood experts would be able to give me some insight into the name of the lighter wood. I have attached a couple of pics.
