Here are a few that's been my learning curve. The first cigar is from a piece of cedar I pulled out from under a tree in the front yard. The second is birds eye maple from old wood my Dad had stored up for guitars. The third is claro walnut I got from my Brother-In Law's gunstock scrap. (Can you believe he burns this for heat in his workshop stove?) And the fourth is cherry and maple from my scrap pile.

I took the picture on the front porch with velvet draped over the grill. It sure is hard to hold that little camera still and close focus!

Wished I'd had that kind of learning curve. They all look great to me. Love that claro walnut. Good job.

Nice pens. I like the claro walnut best. Looking forward to seeing more as you progress. You seem good at making the most out of available materials. Exotic blanks are great but also our local timbers are good in my opinion.
