I cut a piece off of the Rimu cutting board that I bought in New Zealand and made this pen. I added some simple walnut and paduak accents to the Rimu. Gold Tn caballero

Thanks Mark, Jim and Mal. Mark, this was indeed my "retirement" trip and we tried to make the best of it. We really enjoyed New Zealand, it is very unique place with much to offer. It so happened that we visited a Maori cultural center on my birthday. Despite my telling her not to tell anyone that it was my birthday, Lida announced it to the group we were with. The Maori had a formal welcoming which required a "chief" from our group and they appointed me. They were quite serious about it. I accepted a peace token and had to "share a breath" with the Maori Chief by bumping noses with them. Later, I had to attempt to learn a haka, I got the eye bulging and tongue sticking out down but not much else.
