I am still hard at work----LOL. Remember when everyone made these pens. Nils had them down pat and got big bucks for his pens. I sell everyone of these I make. I really like them with real Ivory inlay but I messed that one up. You can not be in a hurry making these.
The wood is Mahogany with Walnut inlay.
I just flipped them over to get the second pic

Cool! I don't rember those. What size are the inlays 1/16"? Good job nice fir/ except for the x top pen lower pic it is a little off/ or is that is what it supposed to be? Either way they look great.

Marc the big trick I found in making these is time.
I only do one step per day and let it dry then the next day I cut and glue in the next piece. I takes several days to complete but it's only a few minutes each day.
I do not lay each pen out with a mic---the spaceing is different on each one. But I ain't trying to make a mathing pair---just a cool looking pen

Chris there where some pics posted of the blanks before they where turned. It's been a long time ago but I think it was Nils.
Really showed off the---How to.
The best results come from have material that is the same thickness as your saw blade
