Since I got the big 18 x 47 lathe I have turned dozens of different non pen related things on it but none as small as a pen yet so I decided it was time to try something small.
Like they say , you can turn small things on a big lathe but you can't turn big things on a small lathe. ..
I was rooting through a big box of pieces of wood that a friend from down south sent to me and I found a few pieces of nice redwood burl so I chose one of those as my first try of something small on that lathe .
Sierra Vista sanded to 600 with 6 coats of BLO/CA applied 15 to 20 seconds apart...
