I posted the lighter one yesterday, but looking back, it was a really sorry photo and I should have held up. The lighter one is Marblewood. The other is Redheart. Both are among my first with a ca/blo finish.

Actually, it was pretty tough to turn. Seems to grab the tools, but nothing serious. It is a joy to finish ... so dense and heavy. I think it could be one of my favorite woods. The nice padauk kind of red, but far more dense, better grain, finishes nicer.

I bought a nice piece of redheart, so I should get another 12-15 blanks out of it.
