Here is a Red & White home cast blank on a chrome sierra. The resin used was Silmar 41 and I used pearl mica powders for color. I painted the tube white as well as tinted my epoxy for backup. I'm pleased that I ended up with good color separation and no pinkish spots in the blank. MM to 12000, buffed with Tripoli & White diamond, & PlastX polish. As always any and all comments appreciated!

Looks fantastic!
Does the Silmar 41 smells like all the others polyester resins? I did my own blanks in a presure painter to keep the smell a bit down, but still - it is so horrific that I am reluctant to do it again.

was this made from the block you mixed up at the demo or was this the block already made? Great looking pen BTW!

Yup, this stuff stinks.

This was the block made the night before. I was planning on cutting it up and offering them to members, but everyone kinda left quickly so Tom, Pat, and I each took one. I still have the ones I made during the Demo. They aren't as nice, I'll post a pic later but it basically looks like a white blank surrounding a red center. might look cool on a postable pen.

Very nice looking pen. Good enough to eat...

Maybe I should have added some peppermint smell to the blank...who know what would happen to it...or better yet turn a pen out of those foot long candycane sticks that are out at christmas time so that they are not as toxic as the PR
