This is part 1 of my dad's Fathers Day gift. A red oak pencil with black chrome kit. HUT Crystal Coat followed by 4 coats of medium CA followed by wet MM sanding all the way up. Finished off with Plasti-Polish.

I decided to try the CA finish again after reading about doing it the way that works best for me. Pretty happy with myself for my second completed finish.

Nice pencil out of red oak. I made 13 pens for a customer out of a piece of red oak that pulled off the front porch of his grandfather's old house. He said that it was 100 years old, they turned out real nice. Since then I have been commissioned to make some pens for a couple of other customers that supplied the wood off of an old barn, that was in the family. Nice way to remember the loved ones that lived on the farm.

I like the pencil, good job.
