Hi All
Just finished this Cambridge fountain pen in Red Mallee Burl.
The color of the burl seemed a bit "washed out" so I gave it a wipe with some red analine dye mixed with pure alcohol. I didn't think it would take on such a deep color but I am pleased with the result..
It was sanded to 1200 then the dye applied allowed to dry and sealed with nitrocellulose sealer, buffed with 0000 steel wool and then 6 coats of Rustins, cut with burnishing cream and polished with Plastix
