Used one of Constant's blanks on an El Grande FP kit. Love the way the blank came out, but must say I'm disappointed in the kit - expected more weight and solid feel for a pen called "El Grande".

First pics from my new (via craigslist) digital SLR.

Thanks for looking.

I like to use tru stone on the El Grande to give it more weight.

Not a bad idea. I guess I was most disappointed that much of the kit (end cap, nib holder...) was plastic instead of metal. Will have to start looking for another, more solid kit.

The pic background is too dark. Almost hides the pen.

Thanks, the pics are still a work in progress. It's a Nikon D40, but my 55mm Micro lens is 30 years old and only works in manual mode :frown: - I can't even meter the exposure in manual mode, so I guesstimate, then when the image looks OK on the back screen, I bracket a few stops either way. This is shot in the $10-20 photo tent from Radio Shack. Next project is to build a bigger photo tent... (in my spare time!)

That's a great looking pen and I like the picture composition. I'm not a photo expert, but I don't have any issues with the background, either. YMMV
