Normally I'm not interested in Civil War Pen kits, but add a little history and bang, it grabs my attention. An acquaintance of mine gave me a 1861 Springfield stock and I was able to salvage several pen blanks from it. The walnut worked fine considering it is over 150 years old. This pen will go to the man who gave me the stock and mine will come later. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this wood could tell where it has been and what it has done.

That's a real beaut. Nice to have a real piece of history in the wood.
