Here is quick build that I did this morning. I applies 6 coats of medium CA and sanded up to 12000 with MM.
Looks pretty good, more of a practice piece but I'm happy with it.

I really wish I knew... I got in a grab bag sort speak.
I'll post a picture of the blank to see if someone can help me narrow it down.

Here are a few sample blanks of the wood I used for this slimline. It is very light red/pink in color when dry and as you can see turns into layers of reds when wet ( I used Tung oil to highlight these colors in this picture and on the pen).

Any idea as to what type of wood this is?

Hmmmm. I'm no expert on wood identification, but it looks similar to some Redwood that I have. Whatever it is, you did a great job making a pen out of it!

Can't really tell a lot about the grain, but it looks like a piece of amboyna I had not too long ago. Nice pen. I have completely gotten away from the slimlines, but that is a nice one.
