I made this pen just a few days ago. The day before my first craft fair to be exact. To my amazement, it was one of the first pens to sell at the show. I was a bit surprised because it was an "experiment" that I did with the wood. It is made of Redwood Burl, and a not so brilliant example at that. After turning it to it's final size, I applied a red wood dye before coating it with it's final finish. As the wood already had a red hue to it, the wood dye simply enhanced it. The end result is in the photo's below. I have a TON of this wood and plan on making more pens, in different pen kits with the same process.

I dont blame you, Id make more too. That looks awesome! I thought it was bloodwood that you mistook for Rosewood until I read about the red dye. Nice touch and a definate eye catcher. No suprise it sold that fast.
