Recently finished this piston filler in a lovely Smokey Quartz Mist acrylic and bronze. I had never tried this acrylic before, but I really love how it finishes up. Transparent blanks with wisps of color are among my favorites for kitless work--especially on pens that have mechanisms that are interesting to see.

This one has a very nice #8 18k nib, which is one of my favorites!

All inked up!

Another beautiful pen! What diameter did you make the section, body and cap in order to compliment the large #8 nib?

Thanks,
Tony

Body is about 15mm, cap is 17mm, and section is about 14mm at the lip. It's a big boy, but accommodating that large of a nib requires pretty large bit of material. I think the diameter of the feed housing was about 10.5mm, which is as large in diameter as some sections on smaller pens!

Thanks John,

That is quite a large pen. It is about the size of a Conway Stewart Churchill whose cap is 17.5 mm in diameter.

Definitely larger than most. I don't mind the girth of it though, as it seems to fits my hand perfectly, and I don't have overly large hands.

My main thing is that I don't like short or overly long pens. I prefer not to post the cap, so this length uncapped feels good to me. One other aspect I always try to incorporate in my designs is the ability to comfortably fit inside a shirt pocket without sticking out more than necessary.

That´s a great fountain pen. The more I look it, the more I like it. And I agree with you, seems to have perfect proportions. Congratulations!!
