PSI 'Traditional' with Purpleheart
I hadn't turned purpleheart before. Quite nice and easy to turn but not that interesting to look at. (Not sure if it goes with gold hardware either).

I find it rather plain too but purpleheart is my wife's favorite wood.

Purple heart changes like maple when you tilt it around and look at it in different light. Nice pen nice wood..

Purpleheart may be plain looking, But who cares. It's purple. Isn't that enough!:biggrin:

I think it goes well with gold. Nice looking pen.

Purple and gold, like beans-n-cornbread......always a good combo!

What is the finish you used?

It's a CA/BLO finish. Something happened on the last coat so it's not perfect (just a bit more matte than I was going for). I also used a bit of PlastX at the end.

Put it in the sun and it turns VERY purple.

Nice pen! I have a lot of purple heart and some looks dark purple when turned and some is more brown but either way its a great wood to practise with and sometimes the purple realy showws up and looks good. I think the gold works well in this pen,
