Found a big cherry log today and starting cutting blocks for bowls and pens. As I starting cutting off the soft punky wood in the center, look what I found. I could see the speckled areas. These areas are actually softer than the wood around them, so they soak up more CA. Looks like I'll let them dry out and send them out for stabilizing. The "good cherry" has great color as well, but I had to turn a "rotten" one first. Another fun thing, as I cut the log, the ants were trying to pull the blocks back in! There must have been a gazillion of them!!!! I won on several of the blocks but I bet I have a few of them in the back of the van yet.
