thanks all..
the pattern just developed out of a pile of 3/4 ply, i just kept cutting at various angles and gluing them up, re cut and glued son more, until i got to a pen sized blank,,
was fun to see what would turn out as.

Very cool Wayne!

Can't imagine the amount of effort that goes into to keeping a blank like that from tearing out during the turning....with the alternating end grain and angled grain going every which way.

Wow! That is awesome! The lines created by the plywood segments draw your eye all over that beauty. That pen/stylus is fun to look at.

i use thin ca to glue the pieces together, then gorilla glue to glue tube in,,
