I haven't turned any pens in a year or longer, but a wonderful lady "ILWood" bought a Pen Pro and we were discussing woods, she said she turned quite a bit of Pistachio, because she liked the nuts and the wood was pretty nice as well. I told her I had never turned any and didn't even remember seeing any before. So she sent me 2 pieces, I turned this first, and got some practice at doing a CA finish again. 6 coats of thin followed by 4 coats medium, Since the wood is a bit oily, I saturated it several times with Acetone let it dry over night then did the CA and let it dry over night.
Critiques welcomed, ---- Except on the photography, I know it sucks..

Maybe I need to take a year long break, cause most of mine don't look this good!

Pistachio has some great tones between sap/heartwood, and from the angle of your photo-I think you got such a piece. Pretty timber, well done on the fit-n-finish too!!!!

Scott (I can destory wood faster then most) B
